Lynda Brown, Inuit Family Literacy Coordinator with the Ottawa Inuit Children’s Centre, poses with author Noah Richler, left, filmmaker John Houston and Canadian musician Barney Bentall, far right, in the library of the Sea Adventurer, a 118-passenger cruise ship operated by Toronto-based Adventure Canada. Brown, born in Iqaluit, is a part-time “culturalist” with Adventure Canada, providing passengers with information about Inuit history, culture, government and economics. She is also a throat-singer and says she got an opportunity to throat sing with Houston, a talented opponent who beat her two times out of three.
