Pass it here! I’m open! Nunavut’s midwinter school break offered up the perfect opportunity to grab some sticks and goalie pads and play a little street hockey, as these Iqaluit kids did, Feb. 18, on Umiaq Crescent. Sunny skies and calm winds drew young Iqalungmiut out of the house and into parks and side-streets throughout the Nunavut capital this week as temperatures hovered around -30 C.
