Police arrest man after Northmart axe assault
Man swings axe at customer, smashes doors, flees store

The RCMP arrested an Iqaluit man Jan. 8, moments after another man was attacked with an axe at the Iqaluit Northmart store.
Police responded to a call from the store just after 3:00 p.m. that day responding to a complaint about a man swinging an axe at a customer.
Though the axe-wielding man swung his weapon, the other man was not struck or injured. The suspect then used the axe to smash the doors of the Northmart store before fleeing.
Police arrested him minutes later at another store.
Robert Campbell, 23, faces several charges, including assault with a weapon, public mischief and breach of probation. No one was injured in the incident.
RCMP in Iqaluit have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at 979-1111.
