Drunken bash in Kugaaruk leads to trafficking bust
Gjoa Haven man now faces charges of drug trafficking

When members of the RCMP in Kugaaruk were called to a loud party on the evening of Aug. 9, they ended up arresting everyone, and laid drug trafficking charges against one of them, a RCMP news release issued Aug. 12 said.
Police discovered a bag of marijuana, cash and a container with 14 joints on one man attending the party.
Jorgan Okpik, 32, of Gjoa Haven man now faces charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. He was released on conditions and will appear Oct. 17 at the Nunavut Court of Justice in Kugaaruk.
