No weapon was used in the Feb. 17 robbery at Iqaluit’s Arctic Ventures Marketplace, the Iqaluit RCMP confirmed Feb. 19.
Iqaluit RCMP made an arrest in the case the following day, Feb. 18, and charged an 18-year-old man with robbery.
He’s scheduled to appear in court later on Feb. 19.
On Feb. 17 around 8:30 p.m., police say the man approached a till at the store, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled before police arrived.
But police say no weapons were used and no one was injured.
The Marketplace robbery was the fifth carried out at an Iqaluit store since November, although the four previous incidents were armed robberies.
RCMP are not saying if those robberies are related.
