Police rule out foul play in Gjoa Haven man’s death
Nicholas Kameemalik, 43, died suddenly Sept. 3
Nicholas Kameemalik, 43, of Gjoa Haven, did not die due to “foul play,” police said Sept. 7 in a news release.
After police found his body Sept. 3 at a Gjoa Haven residence, his death was investigated by the Gjoa Haven detachment with help from “V” Division Major Crimes in Iqaluit.
“The autopsy has been conducted at the Ottawa General Hospital and the cause of death is pending toxicology results,” police said.
Police said they have turned the investigation over to the Coroner’s office, but did not say whether they believe the man’s death was accidental or by suicide.
