Police want help with Arviat hit-and-run case
A “dark-colored Jeep style vehicle” hit a teenaged girl on Sept. 13
Police in Arviat are asking the public to help locate a vehicle that hit a teenager Sept. 13 and to assist in identifying its driver.
A 15-year old girl was walking alone on a street in Arviat shortly before 10 p.m. near the Elders Centre when she was struck by a vehicle driving toward her, the RCMP said in an Oct. 4 news release.
The collision broke the girl’s leg, it said.
She told police that the vehicle that hit her was a “dark-colored Jeep style vehicle.”
The vehicle did not stop after hitting her.
Police say they don’t know yet whether the driver of the vehicle they’re seeking was intoxicated, police said.
