Pond Inlet man dies after disturbance
RCMP’s major crimes unit investigating late-night incident
Nunavut RCMP are investigating the sudden and possibly violent death of a man in Pond Inlet.
Police were called to respond to a disturbance at a local residence just before midnight July 16, where they discovered a man in “medical distress,” the RCMP said in a July 17 release.
A 39-year-old man was taken to the Pond Inlet health centre where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
Police won’t release the man’s name for the time being, while his family is being notified.
The RCMP V Division major crimes unit is assisting with the investigation.
