QIA announces slate for April 30 election in Igloolik
Six candidates up for community director position
The Qikiqtani Inuit Association’s community director position is up for election in Igloolik, with six local candidates stepping forward to run in the April 30 by-election.
The candidates include Solomon Allurut, Dominic Angutimarik, Joe Immaroitok, Lucasi Ivvalu, Zacharias Kunuk and Gordon Qaunaq.
Igloolik’s next community director will be elected to the QIA’s board of director for a three-year term, which expires December 2014.
Igloolik residents who are Canadian citizens, 16 years of age and enrolled under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement are eligible to vote in the April 30 by-election.
