Nunavik will get more money to upgrade computers used across the region’s health and social services network.
A total of $116,430 will go to replace computers and upgrade servers across the region, Pierre Corbeil, the Quebec minister responsible for the Nord-du-Québec region, said March 13.
“This funding reflects the fast evolution of information technology while meeting the essential objectives of safety, accessibility and stability of the computer network,” Corbeil said in a Quebec government, French-only news release.
The province has already doled out more than $31 million to boost information technology across Quebec’s health and social services networks.
Nunavik’s health and social services network has about 600 computerized workstations.
Generally, computers are replaced every five years, while laptops are replaced every four years.
