Last weekend, Qungujugit brought down the house at the Katuaq cultural centre in Nuuk.
Dancers and actors from the Greenlandic performers association, NAIP (Nuummi Aliikkusersuisartut Isiginnaartitsisartullu Peqatigiiffiat), entertained a large audience with a show that featured, among other things, skits, song, dance and drum dances, as well as circus performances from Igloolik’s Artcirq.
The Artcirq circus company arrived Nov. 3 in Nuuk where its performers worked with local schools and rehearsed for their weekend performances.
Last January, Artcirq and people in Igloolik welcomed eight performers from NAIP and Greenlandic signer and songwriter Rikka Egede for a week-long creative residency and cultural exchange.
Artcirq’s Jacky Qrunnut, Damien Tulugarjuk, Reena Qulittalik, Nikita Ungalaq and family, Jimmy Qamukaq, Daisy Iqaqsaq and their boys, Reily and Sheldon, returned to Canada on Nov.12.
