RCMP arrest Iqaluit man in connection with assault on woman
A woman was medevaced to Ottawa from the Qikiqtani General Hospital Sept. 22 with “serious injuries”
The RCMP “V” Division said Sept. 23 that an Iqaluit man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a woman which police say took place Sept. 22 in Iqaluit.
Police said they were called Sept. 22 to the Qikiqtani General Hospital where a woman was being treated for “serious injuries.”
Arrangements were being made for her transfer to Ottawa for further medical care, the RCMP news release said.
Police arrested a man in relation to the incident, but did not provide any details about the man’s identity or the nature of the charges that he faces.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing, police said.
