Scrawled bomb threat graffiti closes Iqaluit high school
Police search turns up no explosives
Students at Iqaluit’s Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit got an afternoon off May 28 when a bomb threat sent everyone home.
The Iqaluit RCMP detachment received a call from the high school reporting that a possible bomb threat had been received “in the form of graffiti” at the school.
“The school was secured and members of the RCMP carried out a systematic search of the school. No explosives were located,” an RCMP news release said late in the day.
Police are still investigating the matter. Anyone with information regarding this can contact the Iqaluit RCMP detachment. Members of public may also call Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477(TIPS) where they can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Inuksuk will reopen May 29.
