Shots fired into Nunavut residence; no one injured

Charges are pending against a 19-year-old man in Baker Lake in connection with a shooting incident in that Kivalliq community on June 29.

According to a June 30 RCMP news release, at around 9:30 p.m. that evening, Baker Lake police officers responded to a complaint that shots had been fired into a residence.

After investigating, police confirmed that one round had been fired from outside, into the residence. Police say there were no reported injuries.

The teenage male has been taken into custody and faces firearms related charges at a show-cause hearing today.
