If you live in Nunavut and like to take photos, you may wish to enter the Qulliit Nunavut Status of Women Council photo competition for International Women’s Day 2018.
Selected photos, including the top 10 winning photos, will then go on display in an exhibition at the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum in Iqaluit, from March 8, International Women’s Day, to March 31.
Called “Celebrating Women and Their Families,” the Qulliit competition, aimed at recognizing the bonds within families around the territory, is looking for images of families.
Photos could show families fishing together, playing together, sewing together, camping, working together or special events such as birthdays, weddings and births, Qulliit suggests.
For more information on the competition, you can go online where there’s more details and an application form.
The photos will be judged on their overall visual impact, content, originality, emotion and general quality, Qulliit said.
Submitted photos must arrive by March 2 and can be sent by email, as well, with each eligible applicant able to submit up to three photos.
The photographers of the 10 top photos will receive $200 each.
