The aftermath of murder: never-ending pain

This is not to bring back the pain one carries when their loved one is murdered, not that we ever forget.

I heard the news report recently about a community that has gone through so much violence that the people are used to it and are now tough.

Violence cannot and should not ever be an action that a victim can be expected to get over, even more so when the outcome of the violence is murder.

I am not just expressing my thoughts nor will I try to belittle anyone.

I will tell you of my unfortunate experience of murder. I’ve been robbed of two loved ones.

I will tell you that it’s impossible to overcome, let alone get used to it. It affects a person right to the core of one’s soul, never to be the same again. It turns one’s life upside down and changes a person’s perspective right to the point of “nothing to live for.”

The ability to function becomes a tremendous milestone. Sleep becomes one of man enemies, due to nightmares. Being awake is just as bad because reality is hell.

All this is just part of the aftermath of murder. Ugly eh? Again I say it’s not something one can get used to and that violence in any form is just not acceptable. If you still don’t understand what I’m saying, imagine walking in my painful shoes, not that I wish it upon anyone. I hope to God that you will never walk in my shoes.

Jealousy is one strong emotion that can lead to the most painful outcome. Is where what we call “our future” is heading to? More violence to such a degree? I sure hope not.

One last thing. If jealousy is an issue for you, please get help because it can lead to something that will be with you for the rest of your life, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, even second by second, just like the victims left by their loved ones.

I know that jealousy is not the only reason to kill another but in my horrid circumstances it was. Where does it all get cut off, this devilish curse? Or is it even overcomeable? I guess it starts with us and not the other person.

Anyway, to get back to the point, let’s try hard, if it’s not too much of a struggle, not to label each other as it offends some of us who are vulnerable still.

People say that all things pass. What a glorious day that will be.
