Thief crashes stolen vehicle into Iqaluit elders centre
Accused faces theft, mischief, resisting arrest charges
A man crashed a stolen vehicle into the Iqaluit elders centre Feb. 7, damaging the vehicle and the building, an RCMP news release said.
The collision caused the vehicle to become inoperable, police said
But police found the thief trying to operate the stolen vehicle. They arrested him after he tried to run away.
The accused person will make a court appearance in Iqaluit Feb. 8.
He will face charges that include theft of a motor vehicle, mischief, resisting arrest, breach of probation and failure to attend court.
Police did not name the accused person or give his age.
