Three projects in Nunavut have received $115,000 for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, Nunavut MP and CanNor Minister Leona Aglukkaq and CanNor minister, announced May 2.

The projects are intended to support economic growth and small business development in Nunavut, she said.

The projects include:

• increasing the awareness of financial and credit services provided by the Nunavut Business Credit Corp., which includes marketing materials in Inuktitut, English, French and Inuinnaqtun.

• preparing a community economic development plan for the Hamlet of Hall Beach so this community “is ready to take advantage of economic opportunities stemming from potential mining activity in the area;”

• training and support services for 13 Community Liaison Officers in the Baffin region to improve delivery of Qikiqtani Inuit Association and Kakivak Association programs.
