Visit Greenland website wins Webby award
Greenland.com wins the “People’s Voice Award”

Visit Greenland’s website picks up a prestigious Webby award.
Greenland’s official tourism website greenland.com, has won a Webby award in tourism, the equivalent of an Oscar.
The Webby awards are among the online marketing world’s most sought-after awards, reflecting a small percentage of total entries and chosen by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
Visit Greenland developed the site, which received a major facelift during the spring of 2011.
“People who click on the site experience an orgy of impressions which signal adventure. Photos and video clips of everything from northern lights to dogsled trips to cuisine show up on screen — all in good quality and in high resolution. And that’s no coincidence. A strong visual impression is literally what the tourists can experience on the world’s largest island,” Visit Greenland’s director, Anders Stenbakken, told Sermitsiaq AG , Greenland’s Nuuk-based newspaper.
Greenland.com won the “People’s Voice Award,” awarded by vote of internet users worldwide.
The awards ceremony takes place on May 21 in New York.
