If you’re in Grade 11 or Grade 12 in Nunavut or are in post-secondary studies, you can apply to learn French during an intensive French language-immersion program.
The Department of Education is seeking full-time students at those levels to apply for a $2,200 bursary through the Government of Canada’s Explore program.
Explore, a five-week intensive French language-immersion program, is offered in the spring or summer — whichever you prefer — in educational institutions across Canada.
Participants from Nunavut will have their travel fees reimbursed and receive five credits for their participation in the program.
Participants also receive a $2,200 bursary that covers tuition fees for the program, instructional materials, meals and accommodations, workshops, and other mandatory activities. The educational institution you will attend receives the bursary directly.
If you want to apply, get your application in by Feb. 28, 2015.
For more information, including eligibility criteria, please contact Nunavut’s territorial co-ordinator, Josianne Beaumont, at 867-975-5652 or jbeaumont@gov.nu.ca.
