$8,000 worth of booze seized at Iqaluit home
Police seized large amounts of booze and cash from an Iqaluit home, after several months of investigation and use of a search warrant.
Maurice Lachance, 57, faces one count of unlawfully selling liquor. He first appears in court in Iqaluit on Oct. 14.
Police estimate the total worth of the beer, liquor and money seized at about $8,000. The investigation spanned several months and involved five officers.
Const. Todd Walsh said the investigation was part of a continuing effort to curb bootlegging.
