OTTAWA — A 23-year-old man from Nunavut is facing a sexual assault charge after an early-morning incident just outside of Morrisburg, Ont., early Saturday morning, police said Monday.
The victim, an adult woman, is an acquaintance of the suspect, said Const. Pete Robertson of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police.
The incident is alleged to have taken place over Saturday’s early morning hours at a residence.
The man — a resident of Baker Lake, Nunavut, who was visiting the area — was scheduled to appear in Cornwall, Ont., court on Monday. To protect the victim’s identity, the man’s name is not being released.
Morrisburg is located about 80 kilometres southeast of downtown Ottawa.
