Open letter to the president of North West Co.
Today, I decided to take a trip to your Northmart store at lunch hour.
While crossing the street, I noticed that your parking lot was occupied by two young men throwing a football back and forth without any regard to the people trying to enter the store.
Was anything being done by the store to protect customers entering your store from being hit by the football?
I also noticed the usual group of young men in sunglasses and hoodies blocking the doors to the store. Was anything being done by your stores to clear these young men from the front of the store so that I could access your premises without fear?
These same young men make faces and shout sexual obscenities at my two young daughters each and every time they try to enter the Northmart store.
When my husband and I park at the front of the building to buy groceries, one of the many sights we witness is the selling of drugs right at the front door of the store. Is there anything being done by your store to prevent these illegal drug deals being carried out on your property?
I am sure that I am not the only citizen in this town offended by Northmart’s unwillingess to tak any responsibility to protect us as we enter and exit your store.
When I asked your office why nothing was done, the only response that I got was that Northmart does not provide security services.
So now my final question, Mr. President: why do you not provide security services to protect those individuals who are coming into your store to buy their weekly groceries?
Surely the answer cannot be that your not making enough money.
