Nakasuk outdoor rink is awesome

Hello from Inuksuk High School. I am writing this letter to thank Amy and the city for coming up with the great idea of building a skating rink outside of Nakasuk School.

Yesterday, like most of the days this year, the weather was beautiful. My day was made even better as I walked home from the post office and heard the sound of shinny in the air.

The rink is a great addition to downtown Iqaluit. It was packed with kids enjoying their free time by playing the greatest game on Earth.

Watching the kids play outdoor hockey is exciting and it reminds everyone of the pleasure of being young and free.

I hope the rink stays open so kids can continue to enjoy playing hockey under the beautiful sky.

Thanks for coming up with this fun and interesting idea. You turned a parking lot into something beautiful. Joni Mitchell would be proud.
