Salluit man faces first degree murder charge
Woman, 21, found stabbed to death in residence
A 22-year-old Salluit man has been arrested and charged with first degree murder following the stabbing death of a young woman.
Police found the body of the 21-year-old woman in a residence near 3:00 a.m. Jan. 25, said Quebec provincial police spokeswoman Marie-Josée Ouellet.
The victim is thought to have died from multiple stab wounds.
Paulusie Ilisituk appeared in court from Salluit by videoconference Jan. 26, Ouellet said.
A Sûreté du Québec investigation is now underway.
