Resident sweeps away would-be robbers

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

RCMP in Igloolik are looking for two teenagers who, on Sept, 16, tried to rob the residents of an Igloolik household while standing right on their doorstep.

The two suspects, wearing ski masks, gave the person who opened the door a note demanding money or cigarettes, police said in a news release.

The resident refused to meet the demands and closed the door. But the two young men returned half an hour later, only to be chased away by another occupant wielding a broom. Police said one of the teens was seen carrying a knife.

The suspects were both young, under five feet tall and wearing ski masks. Anyone with information should call the Igloolik RCMP or Crimestoppers.
