FCNQ boss takes sudden leave of absence
Extended break until Feb. 28
Rita Novalinga, general manager of the Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec, is on leave until Feb. 28, according to a statement sent out earlier this month.
No reason was offered for the abrupt leave of absence.
Heng Kun, assistant general manager, is acting as general manager in the interim, said the statement, signed by Mark Ammamatuak, president of the FCNQ.
The FCNQ serves a network of 14 member co-operatives in Nunavik, which provide a wide range of goods and services to their communities, including retail goods, petroleum distribution, tourism facilities, purchase of arts and crafts, postal and airline services, and cable television and internet.
