Nunavut RCMP members seized three and a half pounds of marijuana bound for Igloolik earlier this month, after searching a stuffed animal found in a luggage bag.

Police performed the search in Iqaluit after getting a tip from an informant.

The luggage belonged to someone on a scheduled airline flight from Ottawa landed in Iqaluit with the intention of travelling on to Igloolik.

Stephen Qrunngnut, 47, of Igloolik, faces a charge of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

After his arrest, Qrunngnut was released with a promise to appear in court Feb. 18.
