Police make cocaine bust in Cambridge Bay

RCMP seize 35 packages of cocaine, $5,475 in cash

Police arrested two men and charged one of them with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking Dec. 13, after searching a housing unit on Kulik St. in Cambridge Bay.

In their search, RCMP members found 35 individually wrapped packages of a substance that appeared to be cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $5,475 in cash.

Kyle Weese, 19, of Cambridge Bay, has been charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

He is to appear in court March 14 in Cambridge Bay.

Police have not released the name of the other man involved in the affair, and have not said whether he will be charged with an offence.

An RCMP news release said police obtained a search warrant for the residence after receiving information from the public.
