Accused assaulter goes global

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

An Iqaluit man charged with sexually assaulting a woman will be allowed to travel for six months on the Canada World Youth program before returning to court again.

George Patterson, 25, will travel to New Brunswick for three months, then Ghana for the remainder of his placement with the non-governmental organization.

Justice Earl Johnson, who granted Patterson permission to do his educational exchange program, said a preliminary inquiry into the charges would begin in April, 2005.
