COVID-19 cases have fallen to single digits across Nunavut after the virus resurfaced in Arviat last month, infecting nearly 30 residents.

There are currently five active cases in the territory, all of which are in Arviat, according to the Government of Nunavut’s website.

Saturday, Nunavut premier Joe Savikataaq tweeted that three more cases in Arviat had been confirmed. Sunday and Monday saw no new cases.

There have been 299 cases to date across Nunavut, with 255 of those cases coming from Arviat. There has been one death.

Clinics for the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will take place in Arviat from Wednesday to Saturday.

Those who missed the first dose can call the health centre to make an appointment, but priority will be given to people receiving the second dose, according to a news release.

sounding like a broken record, the whole community needs to be tested , and root out the virus among the people who do not realize they are carrying the virus ( assymptomatic people), isolate them them get rid of the virus once and for all so the people are no longer in lockdown. That must be so tiring by now….
