Anawalk Arnaquq will be dearly missed

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Anawalk (Anugaaq) Arnaquq was born July 29, 1922, and left us on Sept. 19, 2003.

Anugaaq and our mother raised us 11 children and our cousins. Thank you dad for passing on your knowledge, values and history.

We will remember your words of advice and values in working hard, family kinship, spirituality, prayer and sharing. We will also keep in our hearts, the love, affection and commitment you had for our mother.

Our children will miss you so, but we will tell them stories about you and our anaana, and what you taught us. We say aakuluk to your Sauniq, who could not be with us.

We thank our dear cousin Anne and Bob who stood by us, and (Sandy, Jeannie, Martha, etc., too many to name) our aunts, uncles cousins, friends, nunaqqatiit (Iqalummiut and Apex), and colleagues who offered us their kind words, shoulders, presence, prayers, food, and beautiful flowers.

We are also grateful to our relatives and friends from other places outside Iqaluit.

“Dad” would have been humbly gracious to you all. God bless you.

From Eemeelayou, Lucy, Naullaq, Pudloo, Gou, Sam, Leeta, Sandy, Susie, Pitsiulaaq, and Julia, on behalf of our children and family.

The Arnaquq family
