Anti-violence poster unveiled
A new poster that calls for an end to violence against women was unrolled by Leona Aglukkaq, the minister responsible for the status of women, on Monday, Nov. 14.
“Nunavummiut are working together to end violence against women. Caring communities are healthy communities,” the poster says. It will be displayed in hamlet offices, health centres, schools and RCMP offices throughout Nunavut.
“All women deserve to live free of violence,” said Aglukkaq in a press release. “To achieve this, we need caring communities working together to support victims of violence and help abusers learn how to cope with their problems without violence.”
