Aqpik Jam approaching

Kuujjuaq’s annual music and entertainment bash, the Aqpik Jam, kicks off Tuesday. The four-night festival, named after the aqpik, or cloudberry, features groups from Nunavut, Nunavik, Greenland and southern Canada.

On the lineup from the South are Help!, Toggle and Honeymoon Suite, which won the 1986 Juno group-of-the-year award.

Two groups are coming from Greenland: Isit and the Olsen Kids. Travelling from Nunavut are Tim & Band, Pilipusi Koonielusie, Simeonie Keenainak, Kaina Naullak and the Northern Ramblers. Nunavik will be represented by Jobie Arnaituk, Laina Tullaugak, Akisuktuk, Maannakut, Alacie Arngak, Nunaqatigiit, Angava, the Kuujjuaq Band, and Sinuupaa and Jack Papak.

Hypnotist Blair Robertson will make a return appearance.
