Arctic College to train Inuinnaqtun translators
A new Inuinnaqtun Interpreter Translator program is “well underway” and should launch this fall on the Kitikmeot campus of Nunavut Arctic College, Education Minister Ed Picco announced Tuesday.
Picco says graduates from this program will be useful not just to government, but to mining companies and other private interests who do business in western Nunavut.
The program will include an “access year” to prepare students for further studies. Ten to 20 students are expected to take part this September.
