Earth Day help needed
Nunavut residents who’d like to see less garbage and more plants or flowers in their community are being encouraged to begin planning Earth Day events, for this April 22. Jim Little of Iqaluit, who is Nunavut’s Earth Day coordinator, says he will provide, for free, garbage bags for community clean-up projects, Earth Day posters, compost or “made-in-Iqaluit” potting soil, and seeds or seedlings for flowers and tomatoes. He says he’s also willing to provide advice to anyone interested in starting their own community composting project. Little may be contacted at bmhs@nunanet.com, or 979-3271.
To have your event listed, free of charge, please call 979-5357, fax 979-4763, or send an email to johnt@nunatsiaq.com.
