Attack of the killer seals

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

IQALUIT — Federal fisheries officials in B.C. are warning people to treat seals “for what they are, and that is large marine predators.”

Don Radford, director of resource management for Fisheries Canada’s Pacific Region, made the comment in a recent Canadian Press story.

According to the report, aggressive seals are attacking swimmers, divers and kayakers off the coast of Texada Island, one of B.C.’s famed Queen Charlotte Islands.
