IQALUIT — The 2002 Arctic Winter Games has hired a new general manager.

Kim Wasylyshen replaces Gilbert Normandeau, who quit the job last month.

Wasylyshen has more than 10 years experience in sport management, ranging from the Manitoba Summer and Winter Games to the Olympic Games in Atlanta.

The games’ host society president, Jerry Ell, says Wasylyshen is a “good fit” for the position and has been a key member of the host-society staff as sport operations manager.

Wasylyshen has been a resident of Iqaluit for 15 months.
