Bishop Paul Idlout bids farewell
Premier Paul Okalik was one of many Nunavummiut who attended a special Sunday service at parish hall last week to celebrate Bishop Paul Idlout’s retirement.
Bishop Idlout was the first Inuk and the first Nunavut-born resident to be elected bishop in the Arctic, Iqaluit East MLA Ed Picco told the legislative assembly last week.
Picco thanked him for his “service and commitment to Iqaluit” and wished him and his wife Abigail the very best in their retirement.
