Boil water advisory in place for Rankin Inlet
Health Department cites mechanical issue at water treatment plant

A mechanical problem at Rankin Inlet’s water treatment plant led to the Department of Health issuing a boil-water advisory for residents there.
The advisory was issued Tuesday and remains in effect until further notice.
The department said that for consumption, all water must be brought to a rolling boil in a pot or kettle for at least a minute for uses such as drinking; preparing infant formulas, juices and ice cubes; washing fruit and vegetables; cooking; or brushing teeth.
The Water Treatment Plants across this Territory needs upgrades due to its overdue outdated systems that results advisory of WATER PLANT’s. The Unit per upgrade on each Municipal WATER TREATMENT PLANT may be approx. 1 million per units.
