Repairs to a broken pipe in Rankin Inlet that caused a temporary boil water advisory have been completed.
A precautionary boil water advisory was issued Jan. 28 by the Department of Health for residents of Rankin Inlet after a water pipe broke on Jan. 26.
Although the water treatment plant was functioning normally, residents were advised to boil their water in case contamination entered through the break.
“All pipe repairs have been completed. In the coming summer months, more permanent fixes will be applied to repaired pipes,” said Greg Belanger, a spokesperson for the Department of Community and Government Services, in an email to Nunatsiaq News Thursday.
