A 23-year-old man faces three charges, including assault with a weapon, after an incident in Cambridge Bay led to an arrest and a search for drugs.
On Jan. 29, RCMP officers were dispatched to a residence on Ublogiahokyok Road after receiving a complaint that a man was threatening people with a knife.
After his arrest, officers saw what they believed were illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia and obtained a search warrant for the home, said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. George Henrie in a news release.
Police seized approximately 343 grams of crack cocaine.
The man was charged with assault with a weapon, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.
He is scheduled to appear in court March 24 in Cambridge Bay.
Does this person have a name? I assume he was not given bail until his court appearance.
