Elections Nunavut will hold a byelection on Feb. 10 to choose a mayor for Hall Beach. You can submit a declaration of candidacy between Jan. 6 and Jan. 10. (File photo)
Hall Beach residents who wish to run for the mayor’s job can file declarations of candidacy starting today, Elections Nunavut says.
The filing period starts on Monday, Jan. 6, and ends on Jan. 10 at 2 p.m. local time.
You can download a declaration of candidacy from the Elections Nunavut website.
After you fill it out, you can take to Karen Nattuk, the returning officer’s agent, at the hamlet office in Hall Beach.
Elections Nunavut will hold the byelection on Feb. 10, 2020, at the Hall Beach hamlet council chambers.
On Feb. 3, they’ll do a mobile poll from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m and an advance vote at the council chambers from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
