Charges laid in botched bank robbery
A robber tried to break into CIBC during the early hours of Feb. 5.
Police arrived around 3 a.m., after an alarm had been tripped. They found someone had tried to pry open the metal cage into the business, then smashed a window and entered. The suspect had left by the time police arrived.
A short time later police arrested Kaiva Shaqu of Iqaluit, who has been charged with break and enter and theft. He also faces two counts of breaching a probation order.
