City of Iqaluit closes road due to emergency water break
Part of Anuri Street expected to be closed to all but local traffic until Feb. 6
The City of Iqaluit has shut down part of Anuri Street between Houses 4052 and 4054 because of an emergency water break, according to a public service announcement from public works clerk Sue Avery. The closure is expected to last until Feb. 6, though the road will remain open to local traffic, including access to all driveways. There was no visible leak on site Friday morning. I really love being on trucked water. I’m sure there’s a better, more cost effective system, but I Iqaluit’s current alternative is not it.
I certainly don’t miss being on truck water and sewage, I have extra space where my water tanks used to be, I don’t miss having to clean the water tanks yearly and during blizzards when the roads are closed I don’t have to worry about water or sewage.
Keeping the pipes clear of snow and so on for the trucks.
Problem here is I don’t think they install the utilidor properly, but for the most part we have never had any issues around our area in the last 20 years.
