Civic Holiday to impact some government services
Government of Nunavut and Iqaluit municipal offices will be closed Monday
The Civic Holiday on Monday will affect some public services in Iqaluit and across Nunavut.
In Iqaluit, municipal offices and the Aquatic Centre will be closed on Monday, the city said. All other recreation facilities as well as trucked water services will be operating according to their regular hours.
The Northmart pharmacy and the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum announced on Facebook they will be closed for the holiday.
As well, Government of Nunavut offices will be closed on the holiday Monday.
Not a real holiday in rest of canada provinces and territories except nwt and nu. Another thing to be grateful for. Have a great weekend !
Most provinces and territories observe Civic Holiday on the first Monday in August. In the Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Nunavut, it is known as Civic Holiday, in Alberta, it is celebrated as Heritage Day, in some parts of Nova Scotia it is known as Natal Day, in Saskatchewan as Saskatchewan Day, in New Brunswick as New Brunswick Day, and in British Columbia as British Columbia Day.
Here in Ottawa on Monday is Colonel By Day.
That’s okay.
Sunny day. Pretty women.❤️🥰
Does the Gov’t work Friday and Mondays could have fooled me?
What?!!
Nunavut Government work?!!
LMFAO!!!!
It always seems strange to me that a public recreational facility like the aquatic centre is closed on a public holiday.
They should have holiday hours. Usually it would be a 4-hour window from 1-5pm. I’m surprised it was listed as closed also.
Aquatic Centre is closed for its yearly maintenance until the 11th of august. they havent posted it anywhere but doors are locked and seen a note on the door.
