Co-stars named for new Arctic TV comedy series
Iqaluit’s Anna Lambe and Keira Cooper will star in the yet-to-be titled show, the CBC says

Nunavut’s Anna Lambe and Keira Cooper will be co-stars of a new yet-to-be titled Arctic TV comedy series that will be filmed in Iqaluit, the CBC confirmed Monday.
Lambe began her acting career in The Grizzlies, the movie about a Nunavut lacrosse team’s unlikely trip to a national tournament. She has starred in the television series Trickster and will be in the new season of HBO’s True Detective.
In the CBC series, she will star as young Inuk mother Siaja.
Cooper is a seven-year-old actress from Iqaluit who will make her acting debut as Siaja’s daughter, Bun.
According to a release from the CBC, the show will be about a young mother trying to build a name for herself in a small Arctic town where everyone knows what people are up to.
Anya Adams has been named director of the first episode and is the series’ producing director. Her credits include Yellowjackets, Ginny and Georgia, Black-ish and The Good Place.
The new show will be a CBC, Netflix and APTN comedy series, with Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment as production partners.
The show has been created and written by writer and producer Stacey Aglok MacDonald and filmmaker Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, and the executive producer is Miranda de Pencier.
The show is scheduled to begin filming in 2024.
