Cops press more drug charges
Last week Iqaluit RCMP laid more charges in connection with a recent drug bust.
Darren Silverthorn, 40, of Iqaluit faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Police also charged Charmaine Hall, 35, with one count of trafficking.
The charges date back to April 27 2005, when police searched the home of Silverthorn and Hall and seized one kilogram of marijuana, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash believed to be associated with drug trafficking.
At that time, Hall was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The two appeared in court on May 17, where the case was set over until October 17.
