The number of active COVID-19 cases in Nunavik doubled over the past week, according to the latest update from the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services.

Nunavik reported 68 new COVID-19 over the past week, according to the health board’s Thursday update on Facebook. There were 91 active cases, up from 46 the week before.

Salluit reported the highest active case count with 42, including 34 new cases this past week. Kuujjuaq had the second-highest number of cases with 24, including 18 new since last week.

Akulivik, Aupaluk, Ivujivik and Kangiqsualujjuaq were the only communities to report zero active cases. All other Nunavik communities had reported single-digit case counts.

Several COVID-19 restrictions in Nunavik were lifted last week, including capacity limits in businesses and at private gatherings. Masks remain mandatory in indoor public settings.

“Though measures have eased, it does not mean that COVID-19 is gone,” the health board said on Facebook.

With the invasion of Ukraine, I thought Russia cured COVID , since no news is talking about it anymore.

Russia doesn’t care if people survive or die from Covid-19 or if they die from anything else. It’s a real-time example of a “Failed State.”
