Drug bust in Broughton

IQALUIT — RCMP in Qikiqtarjuaq seized drugs and cash from a residence in this Baffin community late last month.

The police, acting on a tip that drugs were being sold from a house, searched a residence and seized $1,300 worth of drugs and a large amount of cash.

Stevie Uniukshagak, 33, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking. Uniukshagak was released from custody and is required to appear in court in Qikiqtarjuaq on June 14.
